Reech & Reward: The Charity Initiative That’s Changing the Game

Driven by our people and purpose, giving back has always been at the heart of Reech. And, as such, over the past 15 years, we’ve been approached by countless charities and non-profits seeking pro bono marketing support. Like many other agencies, we’ve said ‘yes!’ most of the time, ecstatic to help where we can – especially when the cause aligns with our values, supports our local community in Shropshire, and benefits our county in meaningful ways.

However, as much as we wanted to help, our support often felt fragmented. It was ad hoc, sometimes only making a small difference here and there, and rarely allowing us to see projects through from brainstorm to roll out.

But we believed we could do more. We wanted to turn our commitment to charity support into something more focused, strategic, and impactful.

Enter Reech & Reward

Our Charity of the Year initiative, Reech & Reward, was launched in 2022. It was born from the desire to accumulate the time, resources, and expertise we’ve been offering in isolation, and instead, channel it into one worthy cause – giving that charity the tools and tactics they need to achieve greater things.

For our chosen charity of the year, we offer £10,000 worth of marketing support, which can be used across all and any of our services and solutions – top-tier resource that otherwise might be unaffordable. Truly game-changing! Whether it’s a rebrand, a new website, refreshed messaging, or enhanced brand awareness, they receive the benefit of our full-service agency approach, including our talented team of experts across all aspects of marketing. It’s a 12-month partnership to create lasting, strategic, and sustainable results.

How It Works

The Reech & Reward process is totally unique and reflects our commitment to finding the right fit. Charities and good causes are invited to submit an entry (usually around early Spring) explaining what they do and why they need the support.

From here, four finalists are shortlisted and asked to ‘pitch’ their cause at our Reech HQ in a Dragons Den-style event. Not only does this allow our team to really get under the skin of the organisation, but it’s a great opportunity for the charity to reflect on their mission, needs, and vision – gifting them time to work on their organisation, rather than in it. We’re, of course, not expecting polished presentations, but are looking for passion, personality, enthusiasm, and values that align with ours.

Shortly after, one charity will be awarded the £10,000 worth of marketing support and invited to attend a Discovery Session to kickstart the campaign. The other three finalists benefit too as we offer a 50/50 match promise, meaning if they spend £5k on marketing with us in 2025, we will gift the additional £5k to ensure they receive the resources they need to succeed.

This is an unusual approach to the Charity of the Year initiative – one that’s not seen anywhere else locally. And for us, it’s been incredibly rewarding by introducing us to new organisations and showcasing the abundance of good causes here in Shropshire.

Morally Motivated

The Reech & Reward initiative was my brainchild, and one I’m deeply passionate about. As someone who believes strongly in community and corporate social responsibility, seen through our current B Corp journey, I’m fully behind this programme – not only as the sponsor, but as a champion for each of the charities involved.

Since 2022, we’ve donated over £75,000 worth of marketing support to charities across Shropshire, including Shrewsbury Food Hub, Brightstar Boxing, and Dog A.I.D..

The success of these partnerships has only reinforced our belief in the power of personalised, focused and strategic solutions as we’ve seen firsthand the difference a cohesive marketing plan can make.

We believe that every charity deserves a chance to amplify their impact, and through Reech & Reward, we’re proud to give them the platform to do just that. Our commitment to CSR and giving back is a core part of who we are, and as we prepare to launch for 2025, we’re excited to see what’s next for the initiative and meet the fantastic charities we’ll be working alongside.
