A New Chapter: Reech’s Next Big Move

A New Chapter: Reech’s Next Big Move

After nearly 16 years in business, Reech is about to embark on a new chapter - and this one feels especially personal. In August, we're moving into a brand-new office space: The Barn at The Hay Yard at Shrewsbury Business Park.

And yes, it's only just across the road from our current office. But for me, it represents a much bigger journey.

While we've certainly outgrown our current rented space, it's not just about needing more room. It is the result of more than four years of planning, over a decade of commitment, and a significant personal investment - financially, emotionally, and in sheer time and energy.

The Barn isn't just an office. It's a symbol of how far we've come, the belief I've always had in our team, and my commitment to creating something lasting for the future of Reech. The purpose-built, two-storey space gives us more room to grow, collaborate, and continue evolving as one of the region's most ambitious and forward-thinking full-service agencies.

Personal Motivation

Early in my career, I clearly remember my boss telling me that one of his biggest regrets was never buying his own office building. During his 30+ years at the helm, he paid out a substantial amount in rent, faced constant limitations, and never had the freedom to fully shape the space around his business. That conversation stuck with me. So, when I launched Reech in 2009, I set an overarching goal: to build something permanent, something that reflected our identity, and gave us complete control over how we work and grow.

After more than a decade at Shrewsbury Business Park, we're well established here. It's become a thriving hub for over 70 regional organisations, known for its strong visibility, excellent access, and reputation as the town's premier business park.

So, when the opportunity arose to purchase a building on the final development, it felt like a natural next step.

It marks a significant milestone - professionally and personally - for Jo and I. Buying and developing this purpose-built space together has been a long-term ambition, and one that's taken years of planning, focus, and investment. The result is a space we can shape entirely around the needs of our team and clients, and sets the stage for the next phase of Reech's growth.

The Hay Yard

Located in the centre of the business park, The Hay Yard stood out to me. Since design stages, every aspect of this expansion has been focused on quality, functionality, and excellence, designed to unite ambitious businesses to inspire, connect, and grow.

Constructed entirely with SMEs in mind, it's a cost-effective solution that allows local companies like ours to own their workspace and, in turn, keep talent in the area while encouraging local entrepreneurship.

Covid Curveball

But, like many good plans, the pandemic and additional unforeseen development delays threw a spanner in the works. What started as a project we were eager to progress about four years ago was, for a time, placed reluctantly on the backburner. We knew we'd found the right location and right developer, and so we were willing to wait.

Fast forward to today, and we're finally gearing up to move into a space that'll more than triple the size of our current office. And trust me - we're ready.

Constructed with Creativity in Mind

The building itself is a thing of beauty and is unlike anything else on the business park. From the get-go, we knew this was going to be something special. The architecture is creative, unique, and full of character.

At over 4,700 square feet, with an ambient courtyard, collaborative spaces, and an industrial design that perfectly aligns with Reech's brand, this space is made for the kind of work we do. The exterior is black and grey, with an industrial sheet metal roof - a nod to the rural county we call home, and a heritage I'm proud to be a part of, making it even more personal.

And as one of the early occupiers, we've been involved throughout the entire development process - able to be part of consultations, share feedback on building design, and offer input in key decisions.

Next Chapter for Reech

So, what does all this mean for the business? More space, more room for creative freedom, and the ability to bring more projects to the agency.

Investing in a dedicated events space for workshops and conferences will give us the platform to host our own thought-leadership sessions, bringing clients together for insight, innovation, and idea generation. Alongside this, our fully equipped media studio opens up in-house production capabilities across photography, podcasting, and video, allowing us to offer even greater value and creative agility for our clients.

In a world where offices are often cramped, uninspiring, or simply not fit for purpose, this building is truly unique for an agency in our area. I've always been devoted to creating the right kind of workspace - a place that's positive, inspiring, and fun - because our team spends a lot of time at work, and we want it to be enjoyable. This new office will further reflect that energy, and it's bound to be a space that makes people excited to come in every day.

Fit for the Future

Driven by a passion for our people and the planet, this new building is future-focused in every sense, purposefully designed inside and out to foster creativity, collaboration, and sustainability.

We've built a space that reflects how our team works, not just where they work. From flexible breakout zones and recreational areas to dedicated collaborative spaces, every element has been shaped to spark ideas, encourage teamwork, and help us continue attracting top-tier talent.

We're also proudly opening our doors to the wider community, welcoming freelancers looking for a creative hot-desking environment and offering local charities and good causes access to our state-of-the-art facilities.

Sustainability has been a key priority throughout. The building includes natural ventilation, EV charging points, rainwater harvesting chains, and low-energy LED lighting, and meets the latest Part L carbon and energy efficiency standards.

And to bring it all to life, we partnered with local experts, including Matrix IDC, EDA Architects, and MFG Solicitors, who not only know the area but share my commitment to community-first values.

The result is a truly future-ready space, built to support our continued growth, bold vision, and long-term success.

Here's to the next chapter in Reech's history - we can't wait to invite you all to see The Barn at The Hay Yard once we're settled in. Keep checking back for more details soon.
